Tim Farrell is a retired U.S. Air Force officer, serving as an American Airman for more than 23 years, and rising to the rank of Colonel. He’s a veteran of Operations DESERT SHIELD, DESERT STORM, IRAQI FREEDOM and NEW DAWN, and he retired in September 2011 after his final deployment as the Commander of the 332nd Expeditionary Security Forces Group at Joint Base Balad, Iraq, returning to the city he and his wife Gina decided to make their home.
Tim holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers a master’s degree from Central Michigan University, and an executive certificate in Transformation Nonprofit Leadership from Notre Dame. “Retired,” however, only describes Tim’s military status. Now as a private citizen, Tim sits on the City of San Antonio’s Veterans Affairs Commission and chairs the board of directors of Summer of Service (SOS) – San Antonio. He’s also a Texas State Leader and one of the “Veterans for Smart Power” within the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, and he’s served our families locally, nationally and worldwide as the former Chief Operating Officer and Interim President & Chief Executive Officer of Operation Homefront, and the first Chief Operating Officer of the San Antonio Children’s Museum, which has since rebranded as The DoSeum.
And most importantly, he’s Gina’s husband, Aidan and Keagan’s Dad, and grateful for the continued opportunities to serve San Antonio, the great state of Texas, our nation and our world.
