CHINA Town Hall

World Affairs Council of San Antonio, St. Marys University, Overland Partners, Alamo Colleges, Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce and City of San Antonio are pleased to present  CHINA Town Hall, with Dr. Weiping Yu as local speaker, The Honorable Susan E. Rice, former National Security Advisor and U.S. Ambassador to the UN via webcast moderated by Mr. Stephen A. Orlins, President, National Committee on U.S.-China Relations.

 

Dr. Weiping Wu is Professor and Director of the Urban Planning Program in the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University, and an internationally acclaimed planning scholar working on global urbanization with a specific expertise in issues of migration, housing, and infrastructure of Chinese cities. Before joining Columbia in 2016, she was Professor and Chair in the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning at Tufts University. She is the President of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning, a consortium of university-based programs offering credentials in urban and regional planning, with more than 100 full-member schools in North America. Author and editor of six books, most recently of The Chinese City, she has been a Public Intellectuals fellow of the National Committee on US-China Relations and a consultant to the Ford Foundation, Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, and World Bank.

 

CHINA Town Hall is a national conversation on China taking place in 80+ communities throughout the United States
